"-itis" overload

Woe is me - I've really been in the wars this year in regards to my health.  At the risk of boring you silly with detailed accounts of my various bouts of ill health, I'll stick to a brief list.  Yes, truly fascinating reading at its finest......

3 Gum infections due to impacted wisdom teeth - requiring antibiotics
Recurring bouts of gallstone pancreatitis - antibiotics, morphine (high doses too), heparin
Subsequent removal of my gallbladder
3 Impacted wisdom teeth removed
Tonsilitis - requring antibiotics
Sinusitis - requiring antibiotics
Bronchitis - no more antibiotics please!

On top of this I have Hashimoto's Disease, which is an autoimmune disease of the thyroid gland where antibodies attack the cells which produce thyroid hormone resulting in hypothyroidism.  Synthetic thyroid hormones correct the deficiency state, but this does not resolve the autoimmune attack and the antibodies involved can be disruptive to other organs of the body, ie the brain and neurotransmitter activity - linked to Atypical Depression which I suffer from as well as fatigue, cognitive impairment and a few other things.

I am prescibed thyroxine and T3 to correct my thyroid hormone deficiency.

I have Atypical Depression which is related to Hashimoto's.  I am on Effexor XR which has been very effective at addressing the depression.

One more thing, I also have Adult ADHD which I am officially diagnosed with and treatment with Stimulant medication has changed my life drastically for the best.

Apart from the above, I'm the epitomy of good health.

Yea - Better Living Through Chemistry = Quality of Life.

Maiden! Maiden!

Finally I have the chance to see Iron Maiden when they come to Australia in February - I'm still pinching myself -

I am proud to boast that I have secured a ticket...... don't be envious people - it's been a tough journey.... it hasn't been all spandex and cod-pieces.....lol Last time they came to our little country I was only 13 years old (15 years ago - do the math) and didn't get enough pocket money to go to a big time concert..... ah, so many great bands I've missed...... *eyes moisten with tears*   Iron%20Maiden   I thought this day would- *sob* never *sob* come!!!

One could be mistaken for thinking this is another Iron Maiden fan blog......  honestly it's not.... just a relevant and exciting topic right now!

Bass Inspirations

I don't claim that they are the greatest bass players of all time as there are zillions of amazing, mindblowing bass players that one could choose from (plus every man and his bass would be quick to dispute me and go, "What about so and so? How could you leave him/her out?) - This is simply my personal list of favourites - my influences - the bass players whose style, originality, technical proficiency, feel, energy and passion have been of great inspiration to me.  I appreciate them for their talent, passion, dedication and originality and the contribution they've made to the music that I love and was raised on.

1. Steve Harris - Iron Maiden (Everyone I've ever played alongside in a band probably knows I worship the wedge Steve Harris props his left leg up on)

2. Geezer Butler - Black Sabbath

3. John Myung - Dream Theater

4. John Paul Jones - Led Zeppelin

5.  Rex - Pantera

6.  Billy Gould - Faith No More

Experienced Bass Player - Free to Good Home

I have spent the past 15 years of my life playing bass - have played in originals bands, covers bands, pub bands, church bands and everything in between.

I play 4 string and 5 string

My style is somewhat ecclectic - influences include Steve Harris from Iron Maiden, Geezer Butler, John Paul Jones, John Myung etc.
Aside from metal and prog rock, I also enjoy deep heavy grooving reggae, jazz, funk, fusion, and strangely enough even some country!

Right hand technique: I play with three fingers - not much of a practiced pick player these days(nothing against bass players who use a pick though)

PLEASE NOTE: SUNSHINE COAST ONLY - WILL NOT TRAVEL TO BRISBANE FOR REHERSALS - ONLY FOR GIGS.
